Responsibility of the Senior Pastor

As the Senior Pastor of this church, called by God to oversee His Church in Valley Farms, it is my responsibility from God to care for the flock; see that His Church is always God honoring; That His Word is taught without compromise.

A POWERFUL TRUTH:
The Word of God is alive and Powerful! When truly heard, this Word will awaken the spiritually dead.  His Word, when accepted as truth; will save men from their sin, therefore... “How can they hear without a preacher?” – Romans 10: 13-15.

A TRIBUTE TO MOTHERS- By: Dr. Anthony Slutz

     “Mother’s Day is a very special day, even when your mother has an address that is in the heavenlies.  She is still close by and always in your heart. Her memory is immortal and pictures of her loving hands, her angel face and her steady gait are etched forever on your mind.  Most mothers have never filled metropolitan opera houses with their robust voice, but to every child the melodic sounds of a mother’s songs are sweeter strains than were ever sung by any operatic soprano. Precious voice that voice of mother.  What you wouldn’t give to hear it one more time. Mother’s signature voice you could hear in any concourse over the din of a multitude of others. Hers was the voice that sang to you your first lullabies. That comforted you in your wildest fears. That corrected you in your childish follies. And when time had worked upon and weathered that sweet mother voice, she still, though weakly, could say your name in a special way that would bring you to a halt.

    Most mothers have never built an empire with their own two hands, but in every child’s imagination the hands of mother could build a bridge over any chasm and soothe the brow fevered with any infection. Mother’s hands are soft but strong, tender though tough, gentle though powerful. They are the hands that can calm any fear with just a simple touch, satisfy any hunger with only a handful of meal, mend any hurt with nothing more than a gentle caress. They are the hands, in a child’s eyes, of an angel that has taken on skin and was sent from heaven to be the special guardian of the littlest in life.

     And, what about those eyes. They are beautiful at all times and dreadful at sometimes.  When focused in just the right way upon your childlike body, they can either make you tremble with fear or triumph fearlessly. They can see into the recesses of your soul as no x-ray machine can.  They can at once flash the signal of either approval or disgust.  They evoke contrition, confession, courage and conviction. They are the first eyes that looked on you with unconditional love and until they close in death they will follow you down every path you trod and their gaze will hunt you when you wander and haunt you when you waver and when you stand tall they will speak to you more powerfully than words that you’ve done right and can hold your head high.

The Lighted Path

When I was about 5 years old my family lived in a small town called Tioga in northern North Dakota near Williston. I attended kindergarten there, and the class was held at a woman’s home. She had converted a portion of her home into a classroom, and there were about 15 or so other students in my class if I remember correctly. My parents had already taught me some reading, writing, and some basic arithmetic skills; putting me far ahead of my classroom peers. Needless to say, I was bored, and a bored 5-year-old is not likely to sit quietly, and I was not an exception. The teacher, not really knowing what else to do with me after trying to keep me from distracting the other children, placed me into a dark closet. Children were raised differently in the 60’s and these days such a method of discipline would surely lead to a lot of legal problems, and the assumption the child is scarred for life. I remember sitting on a box in the closet a few minutes, in the dark, not scared, but still bored. As my eyes adjusted to the dark I saw there was a pull string, and pulling it turned on the light inside the closet, and much like God proclaimed in Genesis 1:3 “Let there be light; and there was light.” Much to my delight I found there were stacks and stacks of National Geographic and other magazines, truly a proverbial gold mine of exploration lay ahead in my eyes. I don’t recall how many days I was placed into the closet before the teacher gave up or caught on, but for many days I made it a point to misbehave just enough to be sent back to the closet light and resume my readings and explorations. 

Like the many people that haven’t found and accepted Jesus Christ, they continue to live their lives in spiritual darkness, much like being in a dark closet. Life goes on all around you, but you can’t clearly see the consequence of the path you are on and keep from sin.

(Psalm 119:105) “Your word is a lamp to guide me, and a light for my path.”

The life changing acceptance of Jesus Christ as your savior and your repentance of sin will lead you to salvation, and to walk in the light of Jesus Christ. With God there is no darkness at all, much like turning on the light in a dark closet and through the knowledge and understanding of His word, being able to see. 

1 John 1:5-9, “(5) This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. (6) If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. (7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (8) If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Let Jesus Christ be the light of your journey, and your salvation. Through His light, illuminating the knowledge of the glory of God, to seek and have fellowship with His son Jesus and among one another, following the now illuminated path, that we may also be forgiven, and purified from our unrighteousness.

Allow the light of Jesus Christ to shine brightly in your life, to illuminate the path in your walk with Him in fellowship, and for repentance of your sins through all the days of your life.

PRAYER REQUESTS AND PRAISE REPORTS

PRAY FOR: Sandra Wilcox, as she lost her sister Joyce this week.

PRAY FOR DEBBIE BELL AND HER HUSBAND FRED:  Debbie's operation is to remove the cancer from her thyroid is scheduled for May 31st.  Keep her in your prayers and be praying for her husband Fred as well.

PRAY FOR: Eric for his work situation.  His eyes are getting better, but his ears are getting worse.  Please continue to pray. 

PRAY: We would always keep the pulpit of the Community Christian Church Sacred and free from the Profane.

PRAY FOR: Pastor Bill and the Leadership team of the Community Christian Church of Valley Farms to maintain a Separation between the Profane ( the Secular) and the Pure (the Spiritual) ; between the Holy and the Unholy; protecting the Sanctity and Purity of the Pulpit as the place where the TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD is PROCLAIMED! 

PRAY FOR: The ones in our church who are caught up in the sin of alcohol   (drinking),  and   tobacco (smoking), that they would be released from Satan's snare.

PRAY/ PRAISE: For Assistant Pastor Todd, as he continues with his studies into the Master's of Divinity program at Seminary. Give him wisdom Lord!

PRAY FOR: Wisdom for our President and his joint chiefs as they consider Syria  and their Russian threat!

PRAISE THE LORD: For His sure PRESCRIPTION for fixing any discouragement. It is The Lord Jesus, as He acts through our friends and loved ones-Thank you Lord for your love.

PRAY FOR: The many in Arizona, in and around Valley Farms who are trapped in the ungodly cult of Mormonism and have turned their back on the true Jesus, and there-fore are not saved, and are on their way to HELL!

PRAY FOR: The True  Church of Jesus Christ (NOT THE MORMONS) TO NOT give in to the pressure from the world for Spiritual Correctness, ( that we would confront the make-believer who claims to be believers with the true Gospel of Jesus Christ). The Lord has not given a License to Sin! 

PRAY FOR:  OUR PRESIDENT and VICE PRESIDENT,  THEY NEED THE LORD'S HELP!!  

PRAY THAT: All who are attending the Community Christian Church, as well as all who have ever attended- The Lord Jesus knows who you are, and He knows your needs. We pray that He will meet your every need. If your need is Salvation, and you have not yet accepted the Lord's invitation to join His family of believers by being born again, I pray that today will be the day you make that decision..

PRAY THAT: All who claim to  know Jesus as Lord and Savior would start to live as if He is Real in their lives, and  will be willing to pay the one debt we owe for our Salvation; that is the debt of LOVE (Romans 13:8)! 

PRAY THAT:  All men who are called into the pastorate would understand the need to separate themselves from the sins of the world, to study to gain advanced Training into a deeper and broader understanding of the LORD JESUS CHRIST & the Holy Bible (2 Timothy 2:15)

PRAY FOR: Pastor Bill as he teaches God's Word (1 Timothy 2:2).  Also that the congregation would encourage him, and continue to love and encourage one another ( John 13:34).

PRAY FOR: Our Church to continue in our Teaching God's Word Without Compromise.

•James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles on one (point), he has become guilty of all.”

•Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

•Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Accept God’s Love through the/Sacrifice in His Son Jesus

•Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Turn to God in Repentance

•Acts 20:21 “I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.”

Trust the Fullness Jesus Christ!

•Romans 10:9 “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as  Lord,  and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved;”

•Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

•Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on Him Who they have not believed?  And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard?  And how shall they hear without a preacher?

•Romans 10:17 “So then Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

•Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me (God) and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

It may not be easy to give up your old sinful ways, and turn in faith to Jesus Christ; but it is the only way to  SALVATION,  AND IT IS WORTH IT! 

 CALL UPON (THE FULLNESS OF) THE NAME OF JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SAVED!
