Men Prepare Sermons; God Prepares Men

2nd Timothy 2:15

"The proper place for a ship to be is in the water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will sink. The proper place for the church is in the world,

BUT IF THE 'WORLD' GETS INTO THE CHURCH,

THE CHURCH WILL GO DOWN IN DISGRACE!"

"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness...But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:14-15

Is God Calling You to be a Pastor?

The right kind of education is essential to the man who has answered God's call. No army dare send a soldier into battle without proper training. The results would be devastating, not only for the warrior, but for the war.

THE WEDDING !

JOSEPH WILLIAM & MORISAH JOY PERRY

5-24-2013

Our first grandchild to be married; Joseph Perry

I believe this to be our fastest trip ever to New England.  We left Tucson on Tuesday morning, arrived in Albany, NY that afternoon, rented a car and after a visit with our son Jim, his wife Jodie, and their children, and a trip around Lake George, we headed out on our wet cool adventure across New England, to Conway, New Hampshire (Rain and 42 degrees).  We returned home Saturday night at 11:00 pm, and Sunday Church was held at Valley Farms Church on schedule. Thank you all who helped make this trip possible.  Blessed be the Name of the Lord!

welcome-to-church-dinner

We had our first church dinner/pot luck today and we were blessed to have Bob and Charlene join us.  We had a great time of food, friends, and fellowship.  We’re looking forward to future lunches here at the church.  Charlene has agreed that she will host the next one.   Watch for announcements of the next luncheon at church.

May 12—Happy Mother’s Day!

A Mother’s Day Poem

By Judy Smith102_9704
If mothers weren’t created, Oh my! What would we do?
For no one else could e’r withstand The things we put them through.
The late night drinks of water, The messy, muddy feet,
The chocolate handprints on the wall,  And crumbs left in our seats.
Our moms are cooks and cleaners And fixer-uppers too!102_9706
I guess when you get down to it,  There’s nothing they won’t do.
Some moms are also doctors, They make the hurt seem less,
And sometimes not with medicine, But just by kindnesses.
Yes, God created mothers, ‘Cause they can stand the test.
He knew what He was doing, and He did His very best.
I thank you, God, for mothers.  I’m happy, for you see,102_9710
Of all the mothers in the world You gave my mom to me!

May 5—(Cinco de Mayo)

A Poetic verse to all my friends

Around the
 corner I have a friend,
In this great
city that has no end,

Yet the days go
by and weeks rush on,
 And before I
know it, a year is gone.

And I never got to see
 my old friend’s face,
For life is a
 swift and terrible race,
 He knows
I love him just as well,
 as in the days
 when I rang his bell.

And he rang
mine but we were younger then, and now we are just tired old men.
 Tired of
playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying
to make us a name.

'Tomorrow' I
say! 'I will call my friend,
Just to show
that I'm thinking of him. '
But tomorrow
 comes and tomorrow goes,
 and distance
between us grows and grows.

Around the
corner, yet miles away,
 'Here's a
telegram sir,' 'You friend died today.' And that's what
we deserve and get in the end.

Around the
 corner, a vanished friend.

Dr. Glenn Mollette and His Wife, Carole, Visit Valley Farms

Carole04   102_9680

Carole blessed us with special music during our dedication time and Dr. Glenn Mollette was the key note speaker with a message on God’s love for His church.

102_9681   102_9683

It was a blessing to fellowship and celebrate with other believers as we dedicated this church to the Lord Jesus Christ.

102_9690

We look forward to a blessed relationship with the community as the Lord leads us.

102_9695

After church we shared a meal with Dr. Mollette and his wife at Old Pueblo in Florence.

It has become harder and harder for our friend Deloris who is in her 90s to make her way to our church service on Sunday Mornings at Ho Ho Kam Village.  As time goes by the years take their toll and now we find that we are better able to minister to her in her home, one on one.  Pray for us.

Starting this week it was decided to bring Ho Ho Kam and Valley Farms church into one fellowship.

One of our concerns was Fred, as Fred has trouble hearing.  Church members have taken upon themselves to bring Fred to Valley Farms Church on Sunday Mornings.  We are praising the Lord.  This will work out well through the summer months.

IF I WERE THE DEVIL... by the late Paul Harvey (1999)

I would gain control of the most powerful nation in the world...

I would delude her peoples’ minds into thinking that their standing had come from man's effort, instead of God's blessings...

I would promote an attitude of loving things and using people, instead of loving people and using things...

I would dupe entire states into relying on gambling for their state revenue...

I would convince people that character is not an issue when it comes to leadership...

I would make it legal to take the life of unborn babies...

I would make it socially acceptable to take one's own life, and invent machines to make it convenient...

I would cheapen human life as much as possible, so that the lives of animals are valued more than human beings...

I would take God out of the schools, so that even the mention of His Name would be grounds for a lawsuit...

I would come up with drugs that sedate the mind and alter behavior and then target our youth while employing sports heroes to advertise them...

I would take control of the media, so that every night I could pollute the mind of every family member with my agenda...

I would attack the family, the backbone of any nation, in every possible way, demeaning marriage as God intended and then redefining it in accord with the new normal...

I would make divorce acceptable, easy, and even fashionable because if the family crumbles so will the nation...

I would compel people to express their most depraved fantasies on canvas and movie screens, and then call it art...

I would convince the world that people are born homosexuals, and that their lifestyles should be accepted and marveled...

I would convince the people that right and wrong are determined by a few who call themselves authorities, and refer to their agenda as politically correct...

I would persuade people that the church is irrelevant and out of date and that The Bible is for the naïve...

I would dull the minds of Christians, and make them believe that prayer is not important, and that faithfulness and obedience are optional...
I guess I would leave things pretty much the way they are!
And, in his inimitable way, he concluded this 1999 spot with his signature greeting:
Good Day!
