Men Prepare Sermons; God Prepares Men

2nd Timothy 2:15

"The proper place for a ship to be is in the water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will sink. The proper place for the church is in the world,

BUT IF THE 'WORLD' GETS INTO THE CHURCH,

THE CHURCH WILL GO DOWN IN DISGRACE!"

Thank you for taking the time to view our blog;we look forward to reading your comments. DVDs of our services are available upon request. We covet your prayers and friendship. In His Service and For His Glory, Pastor Bill & Kathy ...
"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness...But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:14-15

Is God Calling You to be a Pastor?

The right kind of education is essential to the man who has answered God's call. No army dare send a soldier into battle without proper training. The results would be devastating, not only for the warrior, but for the war.

My Point of View The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, When 24 hours in a day is not
enough; remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.  When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar  and start to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They  agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured it into  the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf  balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The  professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.' The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. 'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter
subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions, things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.  The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car.  The sand is everything else -- The small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.  If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, You will never have room for the things that are really important to you. So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Go out to dinner with your wife or husband; There will always be time to clean the house and fix the dripping tap. "Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The
professor smiled..."I'm glad that you asked' that." It just goes to show you that no
matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee
with a friend..' Please share this with other "Golf Balls" And REMEMBER I take mine
with a little MILK!
Hufhand Report

Al Gore got so angry during a speech about global warming that he started cussing and
using foul language and almost woke up his audience.

President Obama said last week that the downgrading of our credit rating should give
America "a renewed sense of urgency." What's with this guy? We're not interested in
having a "renewed sense of urgency; we want a "renewed sense of value."

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man
standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

Storm Damage in San Tan/Queen Creek

About 15 to 20 miles north of us in the San Tan/Queen Creek area the wind did some pretty bad damage on Thursday night.  There was some tree damage and power lines were down.  Below are some of the pictures of the damage.

  1. Good Morning,

In response to your request as to whether we enjoy your news letter---the answer is a YES,YES,&YES!!!! I look forward to your pictures and news on Monday mornings. Sometimes, can't wait, so I am opening on Sunday evening, looking for it. So please continue with the wonderful job. Bet some times, it gets a little hard to find something to write about, with so few people.

We are thinking of returning to HoHoKam any time after the 8th of September. Have the Wisconsin Quilt Expo that day, and that night Charlie has his 55th class reunion. Then all of our obligations for this summer will be fulfilled. A matter of getting things packed and on our way. Which, after 16 years, is not all that hard to do and think about. Almost a routine thing by now.

A person, can feel fall in the air here. Temps are very pleasant during the day----high 70's low 80's, but nights they are dipping into the 50's. The leaves are beginning to turn colors, (just beginning), the crickets, tree toads & grass hoppers are singing their songs.

Ok, got to run for now.........Take care........
