A TRUTH THAT MUST BE READ! 

Why be Holy?/What Is Truth?
This seems to be very relative to our day! By: Pastor Bill

Truly, these days with so many living without a standard of truth, everybody seems to be very sure that what they believe is right. Because of this, what do we see? We see marriages that end in divorce, business partnerships break up, evil upon evil, even sports teams experience fighting among players all because of ultra inflated egos, thus, resulting in the team not performing at its full potential. And those are just a very few examples. You see, everybody has an opinion or conviction about life in general. We may jokingly say to one another, “I don’t discuss politics or religion,” ya, right! The very fabric of our lives is woven around political and religious views. Those views are formed mainly from our culture and position in life, and often form a barrier between us and those who think differently from us. To blend our differences calls for strength to cross that barrier. Problems arise when we refuse to see, hear, or we acknowledge another person’s idea, conviction, or thier arguments. This happens even with people of similar beliefs; how much greater is the strife when convictions and ideologies clash. Each is sure he is as right as the next. But so often what we deem right is merely a preference in our own eyes—not a life-or-death matter. The definition and use of words can cause us much confusion. Often, we discuss what we value, but when we speak of our values, we may mean something completely different from what someone else is talking about. The term “values” is directly associated with each of us hold as a standard of truth. Values are truly worthless unless there is a standard from which they are drawn. Some in the political arena flippantly speak and use the “values” being important to them while ignoring and defaming the “standard of truth” using this to gain traction, or political gain. They characterize the fatal belief of today that says, “Truth is whatever you make it to be.” There was a government official who once long ago, posed the same question many are asking today: “What is truth?” It was the Roman governor Pilate who asked that question after Jesus stated, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me” (John 18:37). Earlier, Jesus had told those who believed in Him, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31­32). We lost sight of truth when we rebelled against God. But today each of us has the God­-given privilege to make a choice. Do I desire to obey God and live by His truth (that is learned from the Bible) or rebel against Him and live outside of truth? It does not become a matter of whether I am right, but is what I believe to be right governed by truth? It is no wonder we flounder in confusion and pain when we do not plan our trip through this life by using God’s “Road Map,”—His Word, the Bible— as the standard that brings stability and peace to a nation and its people. Christian, even if our nation and our churches neglect God’s Road Map, you and I dare not neglect His Church where His Word is preached; in his Church we will find the standard of truth by which we can know and do what is truly right in God’s sight.

PRAYER REQUESTS AND PRAISE REPORTS

Pray for:  Lori King, wife of Doug, who is the son of Dal and Carrie King.  Doug and Lori are the parents of two young children, Violet and Miles.  After meeting with a neurologist they have scheduled surgery to remove the mass on Lori's brain.  The surgery will take place on June 7th.  The mass, about the size of a golf ball, is on the right hand side on top of the brain (relatively good place).  Lori is on an anti-seizure medication and should be able to function ok until the surgery.

Pray for:  Pastor Bill as he has a follow up appointment with his doctor June 1st.

Pray for: Our annual ministry circuit as we will be traveling through the country meeting face to face with our ministry partners.

Prayer and Praise: For George and Valerie Martinez that their health is improving, and that it will continue to improve.

Pray for: Our Missionaries, as they labor for the Lord.

Pray that: It would be understood, that alone, as an individual, you are not the Church, not Until We, as Believers, Gather Together in His Name, as a Congregation, do we become a Church; the Bride of Christ! COME TO CHURCH! Hebrews 10: 24-25.

Praise for: The fear has subsided in our land; in our nation, state and city, as our trust once again is turned to the God of all creation.  FEAR NOT!  For I am with you says the Lord God! 

PRAY FOR: The many that are unsaved, in and around Valley Farms. Rebuke, and hold back the ungodly cult of Mormonism. These people who have turned their backs on the true Jesus, and there-fore are by no means saved, but are on their way to an Eternity in HELL!

PRAY FOR: Salvation for OUR PRESIDENT and VICE PRESIDENT.

PRAY THAT: All who claim to know Jesus as Lord and Savior would start to live as if He is Real in their lives and will be willing to pay the one debt, we all owe for our Salvation; that is the debt of LOVE to the Lord Jesus (Romans 13:8)!

PRAY FOR ALL CONCERNED: As Pastor Bill teaches God's Word (1 Timothy 2:2). As he teaches the Truth of God's word and rebukes all false gospels. Pray that many would respond to the Truth of God's Word in love and truth.

SALVATION: Not only to Eternity in Heaven, but from Eternity in Hell! You MUST, first of all: Humble yourself and Admit You Are a Sinner in Need of a Savior:

* Mark 1:15 "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

•James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.”

•Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

•Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Accept God’s Love through the/Sacrifice in His Son Jesus

Turn to God in Repentance

•Acts 20:21 “solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Trust the Fullness Jesus Christ!

•Romans 10:13 “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

•Romans 10:14 “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?"

•Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."

•Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me (God) and find Me when you search for Me with all your (being) heart.”

It may not be easy to give up your old sinful ways, and turn in faith to Jesus Christ; but it is the ONLY way to SALVATION, AND IT IS WORTH IT!
