Responsibility of the Senior Pastor
***********************************
A Quote Worth Reading
“Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.”~Patrick Henry
***********************************
As the Senior Pastor of this church, called by God to oversee His Church in Valley Farms, it is my responsibility from God to seek the meekness of humility in obedience to Him as I care for, His little flock; To be God honoring; Saint loving; Reaching out to the lost; While Teaching His Word Without Compromise.
A POWERFUL TRUTH:
The Word of God is alive and Powerful! When truly heard, this Word will awaken the spiritually dead. His Word, when accepted as truth; will save men from their sin, therefore... “How can they hear without a preacher?” – Romans 10: 13-15.
Should you have any questions, feel free to talk with me.

Am I Getting Enough Likes?
This past week I was blessed to attend a Pastor’s Conference in Ahwatukee, AZ. During one of the worship sessions, the Pastor talked of how many pastors receiving feedback from their congregation, and being “liked”, can be a motivator to their message direction and for the sermons they may preach. There is no doubt, being “liked” is a significant motivation for everyone. We all want to be liked, to be accepted, it’s part of human nature. It validates who we are; it motivates our actions and place in our social setting. This motivation of being liked for something we said, for our works, becomes a problem when we allow it to become the power that motivates us in our Christian faith, in our actions (works), and in our daily walk with the Lord. The use of social media has grown and nurtured that desire to seek approval and be “liked” by nearly every one today. How many of us post something on social media, and then over the course of minutes, hours and even days, check what we have posted to see how many “likes” we have received? We have become so motivated and focused on the number of “likes” and “shares” we receive over our posted material. More likes excellent, fewer likes…. what is wrong, what did we not say or do? This is when we begin the slippery slope to have problems in what motivates our works and can begin towards becoming idolatry, or man pleasures. We may begin to seek our personal validation of our good works from the likes we've received on our social media. The number of “likes” now becomes our reward for our good works.
"Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward with your Father in heaven. (Mat 6:1 CSB)
When we pray or do good works; these acts should be done for His glory and must not be done as a spectacle for others to witness, seeking personal glory and validation by the number of “likes” or for others to say, “what good things (works) you have done.” The response and approval of others must not be what motivates our prayer, our words, or our good works. We must never be enslaved by how many “likes” or level of acceptance we gain, but instead, our words and works must be done for the love and glory of God in our daily walk with Him.
"so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Mat 6:4 CSB)
Let our good works be done for the glory of God, for our rewards are with our Father in heaven, and not here on earth as a spectacle for others measured in the form of “likes.”

IS THERE A BIBLICAL PRESCRIPTION TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN? YES! ONE AND ONLY ONE. IT'S FOUND IN 2nd CHRONICLES 7:14; "IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SINS AND HEAL THEIR LAND."
THE ANSWER IS: TURN BACK TO THE LORD GOD-TO FAITH-FAMILY!
WHY REACH OUT AND MINISTER TO MEN?
- When a child is reached for Christ, 3.5% of the family will follow.
- When a mother is reached for Christ, 17% of her family will follow.
- When a father is reached for Christ, 93% of his family will follow. (Per the Heritage Foundation)
- THE LORD S CALLING FAITHFUL MEN TO LEAD THEIR FAMILIES!

Look for Pastor Bill's latest book
Dr. William Perry is a prolific writer of outstanding books. His titles for Newburgh Press thus far are Christians Helping Christians, Christian Counseling for the 21st Century and Theology for the 21st Century. Each book is a must for every reader of solid Christian material.
I am happy to endorse Dr. Perry’s latest treasure, “A Journey Through The Gospels.” Every student and preacher/teacher of the Bible needs this book for the desk or the bedside table. You will enjoy reading insights and valuable lessons that many casual readers of the Bible will miss.
While this book is not lengthy you will find a delightful study of each gospel that will make you appreciate the wonderful gospel stories and love Jesus even more.

Hello PB, I enjoyed our message again this week. I am thankful for your chosen word in John 1:12 - 'to become' that is my desire ... to become ... and to grow and walk in His ways. Too many churches as you have said are trying to operate on their own worldly power and try as they will it is not by might nor by power but ...saith The Lord. The religious system today hasn't changed that much from then until now - religion is separating people from God's will be done.
ReplyDeleteWhen you spoke of shallow lives PB I was smiling about that statement of having faith 1/2 mile wide but only 1/2 inch deep:) I am thankful for John 15:16 - What God can do with a yielded repentant person.
Keep up the Good Fight!
Another good message. Looking forward to showing it the Lord's day. Thank you Pastor Bill
ReplyDeleteAnother good teaching on how to walk with The Lord through this life, being a witness for Him.
ReplyDeleteGreat job of explaining the Power Authority and the humility that is involved with Submission. I'm loven it.
