Men Prepare Sermons; God Prepares Men

2nd Timothy 2:15

"The proper place for a ship to be is in the water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will sink. The proper place for the church is in the world,

BUT IF THE 'WORLD' GETS INTO THE CHURCH,

THE CHURCH WILL GO DOWN IN DISGRACE!"

Thank you for taking the time to view our blog;we look forward to reading your comments. DVDs of our services are available upon request. We covet your prayers and friendship. In His Service and For His Glory, Pastor Bill & Kathy ...
"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness...But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:14-15

Is God Calling You to be a Pastor?

The right kind of education is essential to the man who has answered God's call. No army dare send a soldier into battle without proper training. The results would be devastating, not only for the warrior, but for the war.

THE TRUE REASON FOR THE SEASON

The Children Sing “Away in the Manger” Lord Bless the Children!

A PLACE OF POVERTY!

In a Gallup Poll, “Away in a Manger” was voted the second most popular carol. Although, cattle being present at Jesus’ birth or Jesus not crying isn’t mentioned in the Bible. The carol depicts some deep theological truths.

In Luke 2:7 we are told that “Mary gave birth to her [ first] child, a son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him an animal’s feed trough, and there was no room for them in the Inn”, Why would Luke mention that Jesus was placed in a feeding trough for animals? Why a manger?

The song “Away in a Manger” reveals His lowly birth, from Heavens glory into poverty. The King of kings, placed not in splendor, but a manger of hay. Paul commented in 2 Corinthians 8 :9,  “Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich”.

“Away in a Manger” declares that Jesus, at His birth is fully God, yet fully human; He experienced life’s trials and tragedies. “It was necessary for him to experience life in every respect like us . . . so that he could . . . offer Himself as the sacrifice, perfect, to take away [our] sins . . . He faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 2:17-18, 4:15).

“Away in a Manger” says this world had no room for Jesus. Not much has changed in 2,000 years. Jesus is rejected today by many, My prayer is that He find room in our heart, not only for this season, but for eternity.
