In the beginning was the Word!
Here in the Valley, we are never surprised, but always Amazed, as we witness the Lord’s Blessing, as He builds His Church. What a Joy to see families, loving the Lord together with their children and grandchildren, PRAISE THE LORD!!
Welcome back Dal and Carrie King.
Praise the Lord for your safe return.
Deloris-Our Friend!
This week we stopped by for a visit with our friend Deloris, who now resides in Casa Grande, in an extended living facility (our neighbor from HO HO KAM), What a blessing this wonderful Saint is to me and Kathy.
Jesus, What a Savior!
Just think, if Jesus hadn’t come down and entered our world as Savior, at least two things would be true. First, there would be no justice, and those with the most power would win. In ancient times, it was those with the most camels, wives, or gold. Today it also includes those with the most cash, toys, or, even to some, it’s their number of Facebook friends. Either way the goal is the same: Get all you can while you can.
This competition to get ahead is a distraction to us from the second, more obvious truth we would face without Jesus: In the end everybody loses. No matter how hard you try, you’re done for when you die. And if death were to be the end of our existence,(and it’s not), then we might as well “eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die!” (1 Corinthians 15:32). It’s actually worse than that; Death is not the end, if Jesus had not come we would all be condemned to pay for our sins in the endless torment of HELL (Hebrews 9:27-28). We would cry out for a death that would never come.
But Praise His Name, Jesus has come! And we need to know that He didn’t enter our world just to offer warm handshakes, and a big howdy all around. He didn’t come to slap us on the back and say, “Looks like things are under control. Keep up the good work!” No way, as Mary sang, that her Son came to turn our world upside down. As is stated in Luke 1:51-53, He “has brought down princes . . . and exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands”
The rules have not changed. Life is still not about you collecting the most “things” before you die. Jesus tells us in Matt. 16:24-25, “Turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it”
