THIS WEEK WE WERE ENJOYING LIFE IN ARIZONA’S HILL COUNTRY, WATCHING THE RAINDROPS AND SMELLING THE FLOWERS WHEN …

WE WERE PRIVELIGED TO RECEIVE A CALL FROM MAYOR TOM ASKING US IF WE WOULD JOIN WITH HIM AND A NUMBER OF OTHER PASTORS AND MINISTERS TO DISCUSS SOME OF THE HAPPENINGS IN COOLIDGE OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS.

THE TRAFFIC SEEMED TO BE MORE BACKED UP COMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN THAN WE HAVE EVER SEEN IT IN OUR MANY TRIPS BACK AND FORTH TO THE WHITE MOUNTAINS.

WE ARRIVED BACK IN COOLIDGE AND AT THE MEETING WE WERE JOINED BY MANY OTHER PASTORS FROM THE AREA AS OUR POLICE CHIEF, JOE BRUGMAN INFOMED US OF TWO HOMICIDES IN TOWN, ONE A DENISE SHAW AND THE SECOND, ROBERT LEE CALVIN, III.

HE LET US KNOW SOME OF THE DETAILS SURROUNDING THE TWO INCIDENTS, THAT HE DID NOT BELIEVE EITHER WERE DRUG OR GANG RELATED. HE ALSO LET US KNOW THAT BOTH SUSPECTS HAD BEEN ARRESTED AND ARE IN CUSTODY.   BOTH THE MAYOR AND THE POLICE CHIEF ASKED US TO ASSURE YOU  THAT COOLIDGE REMAINS A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE.

    Isn't it a good thing that a Mayor and PC are tuned in to the community through the church to ask for communication and support for issues that effect the citizens of town? Really neat, but the traffic... welcome to LA?
