Flip The Switch

Be filled with joy and Good News. The world has so much darkness. Jesus is the light. Be happy today. I know happiness is not always easy. There are the difficulties of life that we face every day. In the middle of all of these valleys and problems God has saved us through His Son Jesus. We are not saved from problems but we are empowered, directed and enabled with the power of the Holy Spirit. There is so much division in the world, in nations and in politics. There is unfortunately even division between some Christians. God is bigger than all of this. Jesus, His love, Good News, His Salvation and His Peace Must Prevail. Today, flip the switch in your life. Bad news, sad news, tragedy is a part of this world. We cannot deny it. However, let Jesus be the dominant person in your friendships, relationships and your daily existence. 

Today - flip the switch-We have Good News. The World desperately needs it!

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  John 8:12

PRAYER REQUESTS AND PRAISE REPORTS

PRAY: The Church would not give in to the pressure from the world for spiritual correctness, ( in not confronting the make-believer who claims to be believers), yet they continue in their disobedience, of living like HELL! (1 John 2:19). Pray that the church would be strong,  yet compassionate in their confrontation.

Pray for:  The up-coming Presidential ELECTION!!  GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

Pray: That many will sign up as we plan our study of "The Truth Project".

Pray for:  Our police officers who are under attack.

Pray for: Cindy Stacy, as she prepares for ministry in Zambia.

Pray for: Wendy- who is dealing with cancer-

Pray that: All who are attending the Community Christian Church, as well as all who have ever attended- The Lord Jesus knows who you are, and He knows your needs. We pray that He will meet your every need. If your need is Salvation, and you have not yet accepted the Lord's invitation to join His family of believers by being born again, I pray that today will be the day you make that decision..

Pray for: my good friend, Pastor John W. that he would be encouraged in every way as he continues to  PREACH THE WORD!

Please continue praying for Hope.  This 12 year old is making progress but she has a long road ahead of her.  Last week's update on her condition...

PROGRESS:

1.  Pain control-- Hope is not pain-free, but the strong meds are keeping the pain controlled.  This makes such a difference!

2.  Head control is much improved!

3.  Swallowing test- Hope finally passed, and she has been experimenting with an upgraded diet!  Eating is enjoyable again.  This is a very emotional praise for us!

4.  Weight gain - after losing approx. 20 lbs over the last 11 months, she is steadily regaining weight.

5.  Hands/Arms - over the last 3 weeks her left arm has gone from very weak to much increased strength.  Hope has been working so hard to increase her daily functional skills.

6.  New wheelchair - with a smaller, custom fit wheelchair.  Hope is now able to wheel herself around.  She is soaring with a regained sense of independence!

7.  Hope's spirit is finally coming back!  Her desire to play games, and interact with others is returning.  This specific improvement has been a huge encouragement and total joy to watch.

PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR:

1.  Nighttime sleep--this has gotten worse.  Drs. keep trying night med combos to cover her nerve/joint pain.

2.  Legs/Feet-- Hope's legs/feet are a paradox of deep nerve pain and completely "asleep" for the past two weeks, therapists have been trying a TRAM machine (like a medical forklift) that holds Hope securely so she can focus intensely on trying to move her legs/feet.  Progress has been painstakingly slow.

3.  Endurance-- Hope's whole family is seeing God provide in this area every day.

4.  Academics-- good Shepherd is helping the family with a private tutor.  Hope is very nervous about schoolwork, as she is still struggling with processing, etc.

Pray that: all who know Jesus as Lord and Savior would start live as if they do, and  will be willing to pay the one debt we owe for our Salvation; that is the debt of LOVE (Romans 13:8)!

Pray for: Michele is having trouble with her Cushings disease caused from the steroids, so Prayers for her to get through the trying to get off of them . 

Pray for: A.P. Todd as he is having some physical problems with a tear to his shoulder rotator cuff, as well as the possibility of a spinal disk problem.

Pray: That all men who are called into the pastorate would know the need to study to gain advanced Training for a deeper and broader  understanding of the Holy Bible (2 Timothy 2:15)

Pray for: Pastor Bill as he teaches God's Word (1 Timothy 2:2). Also that the congregation would continue to love and encourage one another ( John 13:34).

THE PLAN OF SALVATION (NKJV)

 Admit You Are a Sinner in Need of Saving

•James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles on one (point), he has become guilty of all.”

•Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

•Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Accept God’s Love through the/Sacrifice in His Son Jesus

•Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Turn to God in Repentance

•Acts 20:21 “I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.”

Trust the Fullness Jesus Christ!

•Romans 10:9 “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as  Lord,  and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved;”

•Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

•Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on Him Who they have not believed?  And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard?  And how shall they hear without a preacher?

•Romans 10:17 “So then Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

•Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me (God) and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

It may not be easy to give up your old sinful ways, and turn in faith to Jesus Christ; but it is the only way to  SALVATION,  AND IT IS WORTH IT! 

 CALL UPON (THE FULLNESS OF) THE NAME OF JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SAVED!
