Men Prepare Sermons; God Prepares Men

2nd Timothy 2:15

"The proper place for a ship to be is in the water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will sink. The proper place for the church is in the world,

BUT IF THE 'WORLD' GETS INTO THE CHURCH,

THE CHURCH WILL GO DOWN IN DISGRACE!"

Thank you for taking the time to view our blog;we look forward to reading your comments. DVDs of our services are available upon request. We covet your prayers and friendship. In His Service and For His Glory, Pastor Bill & Kathy ...
"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness...But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:14-15

Is God Calling You to be a Pastor?

The right kind of education is essential to the man who has answered God's call. No army dare send a soldier into battle without proper training. The results would be devastating, not only for the warrior, but for the war.

A Poem Worth Reading

Bill4
01BillNavy1961Norfolk,VA He was getting old and paunchy
And his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion,
Telling stories of the past. 02JimDadNavy1
Of a war that he once fought in
And the deeds that he had done,
In his exploits with his buddies;04MilKathy1                                    Bill Perry
T05milKathy6-87 001hey were hero03BillMil1es, every one.
And 'tho sometimes to his neighbors
His tales became a joke,
06MilKathy2

Commander (O-5) William Perry CC-USNR-R

 SMSgt (E-8) Kathy Perry USAFR-R

All his buddies listened quietly For they knew where of he spoke.
But we'll hear his tales no longer,
For ol' Joe has passed away,
And the world's a little poorer 07ChuckMil1
For a Soldier died today.
He won't be mourned by many,
Just his children and his wife.
For he lived an ordinary,09ChuckE-9
Very quiet sort of life.
08ChuckNavyChiefBT

                             BTCM (E-9) Chuck Perry USN-Ret

He held a job and raised a family,
Going quietly on his way;
                                                               Carol Orlandi
And the world won't note his passing, 10CarolArmyTank
'Tho a Soldier died today.
When politicians leave this earth,11lwf0287
Their bodies lie in state,
While thousands note their passing,
And proclaim that they were great.
14LucyGordon Papers tell of their life stories
From the time that they 13GordonDrillSgtwere young
But the passing of a Soldier 12GordonLucyWedding
Goes unnoticed, and unsung.
Is the greatest contribution
To the welfare of our land,
Some jerk who breaks his promise                    BR 1 Jeff Dwyer       SP4  Lawrence Turner
And cons his fellow man?15LawrenceArmy3
Or the ordinary fellow<Digimax 430 / Kenox D430>
Who in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his country
And offers up his life?
The politician's stipend
And the style in which he lives,
Are often disproportionate,
To the service that he gives.18JimWithMilBuddies1
While the ordinary Soldier,17JimMil1 19SteveMil1
Who offered up his all,
Is paid off with a medal
And perhaps a pension, small.
It is not the politicians
With their compromise and ploys,

Sgt Jim Perry
                                                                 PR1 Steve Wells
Who won for us the freedom20SteveNavy
That our country now enjoys.

Should you find yourself in danger,
With your enemies at hand,

21EricHomeOnLeave1
Would you really want some cop-out,
With his ever waffling stand?
Or would you want a Soldier--
His home, his country, his kin,
Just a common Soldier,
Who would fight until the end.

He was just a common Soldier, and his ranks are growing thin,
But his presence should remind us22EricNewsArticleNavy90
We may need his likes again.23EricMil1

24RonnieFor when countries are in conflict,
We find the Soldier's part
Is to clean up all the troubles
That the politicians start.
If we cannot do him honor
While he's here to hear the praise,
Then at least let's give him homage

At the ending of his days.USSREKraus USSBerkley
Perhaps just a simple headline
In the paper that might say:
"OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING,
A SOLDIER DIED TODAY."

WE ASK THAT YOU KEEP OUR MILITARY IN YOUR PRAYERS.

CHRISTIAN / WORLD

Christians must never see political action as an end, but only as a means.  We can never seek salvation through the voting booth, and we must never look for a political messiah.  Never-the-less, Christians do bear a political responsibility, established in the love of God and the love of neighbor.

We are rightly concerned about this world, but only to a limited extent.  Our main concern is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Being in the world but not of the world has never been easy.  The 2012 election underlines the challenges we now face and the responsibilities we dare not neglect.

Matthew 6:33, “ But seek first His Kingdom, and His Righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
