Preaching that turns the tide
It was J. Sidlow Baxter who said: "Tame and spiritless preaching, common place performances on Sunday, will not break the spell of six days of excitement and influence. We require a Whitfield, or a Wesley, sons of thunder, the spirit of Luther to rebuke this materialistic and utilitarian age. Nothing is more indecent, than a dead preacher, preaching to dead sinners, the living truth of the living God. We should preach as if we’d never preach again....as a dying man to dying men."

I received your messages today. As always, very nice. I especially likedthe "what are the odds?" . It is a great historical collection of all ofthe seemingly impossible feats that God has accomplished. I believe thismessage belongs in a text book. Very good. The tie looks nice. I am glad itworked as far as matching with clothes you had.
