DESERT ROSES
Even in the Arizona Summer, it becomes necessary at times to take care of some over-growth. We both got out pretty early this morning, before the heat of the day (110 degrees), to cut back some over growth in our roses. Some of the thorns were 1 1/2 inches long. A job well done, now we can get into our house without becoming victims of the “Roses”.

Continue to pray for us as we seek to serve the Lord here in the desert.

Hello Bill and Kathy,
ReplyDeleteJust got back from a pancake and french toast dinner........... now to prepare for this evening.....
Beautiful day up here today....... storms missed us and the sun is making the garden grow........ sort of... what the last storm left us anyway.
Today I taught on Sacrifices that we were never meant to make..........
Those roses were beautiful.... one or both of you have a very green thumb.
O - before I forget..... thank you thank you thank you for showing me how to make a power point..... I have been using more of them to aid in the teachings.

We do so enjoy receiving this publication - keeps us up to date with the summer happenings.
ReplyDeleteWe lived at #152 prior to Derrold - those "desert roses" are, of course, bougainvilla. You can cut them right down to the ground, and they will regrow in a flash. That is what we did in the spring before we left - on our return in the fall we would have to hack our way to the front door!!
The palm tree was not as tall as the roof of the trailer - we could trim it from the ground. And we planted the cactus from little trimmings from our neighbors - they grow really well too. Best wishes to you for a good summer.
Howdy- Did you try frying pancakes on the sidewalk or maybe eggs , like they did in NY ? Stay COOL !!! Beverly
