Commandment Two - Exodus 20:4-6

4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

Careless Words Are Like a Feather in the Wind

“I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words, you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36–37, CSB)

Will the words you speak today serve to acquit you, or condemn you? 

Gossip, lies, careless and hateful speech are all around now and more than ever. With the growing availability and use of social media and the internet, it only takes seconds to blast a rumor or half-truths all over the world. But even without the use of social media, the ability to do irreparable harm to another with careless and slanderous words is immense as these carelessly spoken words travel quickly in our corrupt society. There is a tale involving a young man who went to a priest and asked how he could take back and stop the spreading of careless and slanderous words he had spoken about another person. The priest told him to take a feather pillow, go up to the top of the bell tower over the church and release all the feathers from the pillow and return to him. The young man did as he was asked, scattering the feathers from atop the bell tower, and returned to the priest. The priest then told him to now go out into the surrounding areas and gather up all the feathers he had released. The young man replied it would be impossible as the wind had carried the feathers everywhere, near and far. The priest looked at the young man and said to him, so it is to retrieve the words carelessly spoken of another.

Lord, may we always keep mindful and guard our tongue against careless, angry, and lying words as these words are like feathers cast into the wind from atop the bell tower. For we cannot gather them all back and not only may the harm be irreparable and far-reaching, but one day we shall be held accountable for all our words on our day of judgment. May the words spoken to each other be right and just, and may our words always be in His praise. Amen.

PRAYER REQUESTS AND PRAISE REPORTS

PRAISE: Pastor Bill's procedure went well- a clean report!

PRAISE! VICTOR is back home recovering from a heart attack.  Continue to keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery.  Pray for the family.

PRAISE/PRAY FOR: Carol, Kathy's sister. Carol is back in a hospital after becoming dehydrated and very week.

PRAY FOR:  Continue to pray for Todd as he serves the Lord. 

PRAY FOR:  Keep Rick in your prayers.

PRAY FOR ERIC: Up-date: The docs put some procedures on the back burner for a bit as they do a couple more tests. Hopefully in a few months. I have 2 big ones coming up. They need to see the results of my lymph nodes in my lungs and I am seeing a opthoneurologist next Thursday. The lung thing is to determine disease and the eye guy is suppose to be able to determine spine up to the eyes. I am hearing he is one of the best in the state but I guess I will know when I see him. The appointment was booked 3 months ago.

PRAY FOR: Please keep Fred, Debbie and the medical team in your prayers. .

PRAY FOR: Doug Beeks as he ministers through his Blue Line Ministry.

PRAY FOR: Phyllis, for her health 

PRAY FOR: Virginia Perry who is 84 and loosing her sight.

PRAY FOR: Barbra Ruesch, who is dealing with cancer. Our dear friend Barb is the wife of our friend and CCRM Lead Chaplain Bob Ruesch.  

PRAY FOR: The many in and around Valley Farms who are trapped in the ungodly cult of Mormonism and have turned their backs on the true Jesus, and there-fore are not saved, and are on their way to HELL! 

PRAY FOR:  OUR PRESIDENT and VICE PRESIDENT.  

PRAY THAT: All who claim to  know Jesus as Lord and Savior would start to live as if He is Real in their lives, and  will be willing to pay the one debt we all owe for our Salvation; that is the debt of LOVE to the Lord Jesus (Romans 13:8)! 

PRAY FOR ALL CONCERNED: As Pastor Bill teaches God's Word (1 Timothy 2:2). As he teaches the Truth of God's word, and rebukes all false gospel. Pray that many would respond to the Truth of God's Word in love and truth.

“Being Freed from Sin”

Romans 5:21-6:2

SALVATION:  Not only to Eternity in Heaven, but from Eternity in Hell!  You MUST, first of all:  Humble yourself and Admit You Are a Sinner in Need of a Savior:

•James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles on one (point), he has become guilty of all.”

•Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

•Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Accept God’s Love through the/Sacrifice in His Son Jesus

•Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Turn to God in Repentance

•Acts 20:21 “I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.”

Trust the Fullness Jesus Christ!

•Romans 10:9 “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as  Lord,  and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved;”

•Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

•Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on Him Who they have not believed?  And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard?  And how shall they hear without a preacher?

•Romans 10:17 “So then Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

•Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me (God) and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

It may not be easy to give up your old sinful ways, and turn in faith to Jesus Christ; but it is the only way to  SALVATION,  AND IT IS WORTH IT! 

 CALL UPON (THE FULLNESS OF) THE NAME OF JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SAVED!
