Men Prepare Sermons; God Prepares Men

2nd Timothy 2:15

"The proper place for a ship to be is in the water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will sink. The proper place for the church is in the world,

BUT IF THE 'WORLD' GETS INTO THE CHURCH,

THE CHURCH WILL GO DOWN IN DISGRACE!"

Thank you for taking the time to view our blog;we look forward to reading your comments. DVDs of our services are available upon request. We covet your prayers and friendship. In His Service and For His Glory, Pastor Bill & Kathy ...
"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness...But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:14-15

Is God Calling You to be a Pastor?

The right kind of education is essential to the man who has answered God's call. No army dare send a soldier into battle without proper training. The results would be devastating, not only for the warrior, but for the war.

PRAY!

Our Founding Fathers understood the necessity of relying not upon their own efforts, but upon the saving forgiveness and protection of the Almighty, Jeremiah 18:8. “… if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.”

If there were ever a time in our nation’s history that we need to repent and ask the Lord to relent, it is today. Repentance is the only gate through which the Lord’s healing will come. Business, programs, and a change in political leadership will not accomplish this. Only the Lord can bring healing to our land.

VISION!  Continued-Part Two!

How one receives the vision is far less important than our need to obtain it. “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained…” Prov. 29:18a.  Do you have a vision from the Lord?  I know that many are called, and many do have a vision from the Lord.  But, the question is, How do we respond when He gives that call, that vision, and the vision is so large, it is far beyond our ability to even consider on our own. This vision is so large that it requires gifts, skills, resources and dare I say, faith that you can’t even imagine having? What if the vision is so large that it has the potential of impacting a whole community, a whole town, far reaching into the far reaches of America, and even the world? Do you chalk it up to impossible and pray for a new vision, or seek the Lord with the question, “Lord! How do I increase my faith to match the vision You have given me”.    More later!

FOREVER “YOUNG”

102_6388    102_6401
On Friday we decided to take some time out to celebrate my visit to the doctor, and take a little day trip to visit the “Tonto National Monument Cliff Dwellings“, just north of Globe, as we had been wanting to see this for a while, and now,. The weather was right, and the time was right, This would be a good time, before our many northern visitors make their way down in their annual migration south. As we passed the Roosevelt lake area , it is just gorgeous,. This is a lake about a  mile  and a half wide, and around 20 miles long, a boater’s dream.
102_6405    102_6407
Well, to say the least, we got sidetracked. As we drove by the church in Tonto Basin, we were surprised to find our friends, and church Pastor Robert Melotti there, as well as his wife Stephanie. We just had to stop. We had a great visit and fellowship, even though it was far too short.
102_6444
Pastor Robert showed us around, at the work the Lord is doing in that area. We serve a Great Lord! We also were blessed to meet Linda, the superintendent of schools for the town of Young, AZ, she challenged us with the suggestion that we visit her town, if we were looking for “adventure”.  We took her up on her challenge.
102_6440    102_6438
So, at this point we were committed to the challenge for adventure, and, now Kathy pointed to this little spot on the map, she plugged in our GPS, which didn’t work very well. We headed out to find Young. Young is a town located on Rte. 288, between Payson and Globe.
102_6506      102_6512
Here we go! We decided to head in from the north, off AZ  highway 260, that was fine, About 3 miles after we turned onto  AZ 288, the road became a dirt road. Around 40-45 miles, and some of the most beautiful country we’ve ever seen, later, we arrived in the town of Young.
102_6620    102_6549
About one  mile before getting into town, the road became a street, and it was nicely paved.
102_6565
As we traveled through the town, it  seemed to be a pretty nice place, it looked nice, with a nice school, a small LDS church,  a few stores and a cafe, where we stopped for coffee and some blackberry pie, Yum!
102_6570
                                                            “THE SCHOOL”
102_6615    102_6625
THE POST OFFICE “                                            “THE GENERAL STORE”

102_6626    102_6634
Now, it was time to leave. We headed south out of town on the same road we came in on. Just about three miles out, the road became dirt again. We continued on for 62 miles, to AZ 188, which is a nice highway, and on to Globe, and home.
102_6706    102_6718
WE MADE IT! NONE THE WORSE FOR THE WEAR. AND IT WAS A VERY ADVENTUROUS DAY! We look forward to MANY MORE, Lord Willing,
