"The proper place for a ship to be is in the water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will sink. The proper place for the church is in the world,

BUT IF THE 'WORLD' GETS INTO THE CHURCH,

THE CHURCH WILL GO DOWN IN DISGRACE!"

Is God Calling You to be a Pastor?

The right kind of education is essential to the man who has answered God's call. No army dare send a soldier into battle without proper training. The results would be devastating, not only for the warrior, but for the war.

A Godly Response to Criticism, Proverbs 15:31-33

Criticism is something we all feel we can do without, but, we can count on an encounter with criticism sooner or later, it is inevitable. So, we need to learn how to deal with it in a godly way. Although for many, it might be tempting to become defensive, or, even angry, wise counsel is to remain calm and listen. The words spoken may feel hurtful, but, the end result may be great benefits that can be gained by those who carefully consider what is being said.

Scripture lets us know, if we refuse to accept reproof, we may well limit our potential for gaining a Christ-like character, and  spiritual growth. Most of us know;  life's best lessons come through difficult experiences. You can be sure if God allowed the situation, He wants to use it’s transforming power, to mold you into His Son's image. It matters not whether or not the criticism is valid , or, even if it is delivered with kindness or harshness, it should be your goal  to respond in a way that will truly glorify the Lord. You are responsible only for how you handle yourself in the situation, not for how any other person may be acting.

When criticism comes our way, we are to be quiet and listen until we have heard what the other person has to say. Pay attention to what is being said, make eye contact to show respect. When our critic finishes, thank him for his concerns, and his willingness to bring them to your attention, and let  him  know that you will consider what he's said. (Very important) Now, ask the Lord if the accusation is valid. Let the Lord search your heart. After a time of searching and prayer, either affirm your innocence or allow the Lord to help you through your convictions.

Every rebuke is an opportunity from God. Criticism is an occasion to humble yourself and accept the Lord's correction.
