HAPPY NEW YEAR!

May 2014 be the Year of Great Blessing, as we each get to Know the Father, and the One He Sent, The Lord Jesus Christ, in a Deeper Way.

Plaques from our son Jim and his family, now hang in the foyer of the church, adding much, and hanging at a level that can be seen and read by, both children and adults- Thank you!

Remember; The Name “Jesus Christ” offends people who are not His:

A few years ago, a prominent Christian group removed the word Christ from its organization’s name. The organization defended its name change, citing research which revealed that 20 percent of non-Christians were alienated and offended by the name of Christ. So they stated that they were merely looking for a name that would make the organization more effective in sharing the gospel.

It surprised me that only 20 percent of non-Christians are offended by the name of Christ. The apostle Paul warned in Galatians 5:11, that to preach “salvation through the cross of Christ” would offend people. To the Jews , the cross is stumbled over. To the world, the cross was a ludicrous idea that a dead man could save anyone. In 1 Corinthians 1:23, Paul says, “So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense”. Even today, the name of Jesus is being rejected and removed from all of society.

We, today, are very much like the ones in the early church, Christians are pressured, not to “speak or teach in the name of Jesus”. But, as followers of the Lord Jesus, we  must continue  to proclaim Him for:  “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved”. “To those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God”. Jesus said, “if anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He returns in the glory of his Father”.

HOFFMAN TO THE RESCUE!

Thanks to Gary Hoffman and Hoffman Heating and AC of Coolidge. we now have heat in the Sanctuary.

  

With a lot of revamping, replacing, rewiring, but, the Lord had sent us the right man for the job. Thanks Gary for your willingness to “stick to it” until we had heat in the church, you are a blessing.

 

                                        A JOB WELL DONE!

 

Thanks to our new heating system, a Sunday morning that started out rather “Cool”, in the 40’s,

Warming up (9:15 a.m)……………………… Getting Better (9:30  a.m.)

  

Concluded, really very comfortable and quite toasty, in the 70’s, during our Service time. Praise the Lord
